Spinach is the perfect choice for
your breakfast smoothie because it is packed with many nutrients such as
riboflavin, which can help boost energy metabolism in the cells and brain. Many
migraine sufferers have impaired energy function in these areas. You can also
substitute kale, Swiss chard, or other dark leafy greens if they suit your
palate better or you happen to have them in your refrigerator. If you want to
use fresh blueberries, add a couple of ice cubes to create a pleasing thick
texture.
Recipe:
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 mango, peeled, pitted, and chopped
- ½ cup English cucumber, cut into chunks
- 2 cups spinach
- ½ cup water
1. In a blender, blend the
blueberries, mango, cucumber, spinach, and water until thick and
smooth.
2. Pour the smoothie into 2
glasses, and serve.
